Inter Loci Fe₂O₃ is the result of a multidisciplinary collaboration between the duo Judith Musil and Tibor Victor Hugo Kovács. The project was created as part of a symposium held on the occasion of the KulturEXPO Anton Bruckner 2024 in Upper Austria and weaves together multiple layers into a multimedia object.

Anton Bruckner’s motet Locus Iste, abstracted and reworked by Tibor Kovács, forms the central material of the work. The musical creation process was recorded daily on cassette tapes. These recordings were then transformed by Judith Musil on a loom into a tangible and experiential object.

Weaving, as a traditional craft, together with Bruckner’s motet, serves as the starting point, which the artists place in a contemporary context.

In the exhibition “Anton zwischen den Welten” (Anton Between Worlds) at Turm 9 Leonding (April 27, 2024 – January 26, 2025), visitors had the opportunity to play the woven object using a modified Walkman, allowing them to experience sound and materiality directly.

At the exhibition’s opening, the two artists also presented an acoustic performance in which the fabric, the loom, and the reworking of Bruckner’s motet were brought into a live, experiential dialogue.
