Speravi

Speravi is based on the work In te Domine speravi (composer unknown), which served as the sonic foundation for recomposition through the use of spectral techniques such as time-stretching and FFT-filters.

The material was transformed to the point where it is no longer directly recognizable, yet its harmonic framework remains present as a spectral echo. The aim is to “zoom in” on this wonderful historic work and highlight individual harmonic fragments, which, through transformation, open up new sonic dimensions.

The piece was created for audition in a planetarium and exists originally as a multichannel composition.
